RULES FOR CHALLENGES: At meetings (including virtual meetings) you are allowed to challenge the person directly above you on the list. If your name is not on the list, you may challenge the lowest ranked person on the list. If you initiate and win a challenge, you trade places with the person you beat and you may continue to challenge the next person in line. If you initiate and lose a challenge, you lose your rights to initiate another challenge for the current and the next meeting. If you lose a challenge that someone else initiates, you may not challenge again until the next meeting. In a challenge, the two players will play until one of them reaches 50 points. That person then wins the challenge. If two separate people want to initiate challenges at the same time, the four people will play and then the first person to reach 50 in one pair wins that challenge, and the first person to reach 50 in the other pair wins that challenge. People not currently in the challenge may still play along, but must wait until after the question is done being read to guess. IF THE PERSON ABOVE YOU IS NOT AT A MEETING: It is their prerogative not to attend the meeting; therefore, you may still challenge them. You will be given 10 questions and must earn at least 50 points in order to "win." Remember, Sam is the final judge in all challenges and everything else in Science Bowl. If you want more clarification on anything, just ask him.
